PowerISO is an advanced CD/DVD image processing tool. It allows the user to open, extract, create, edit, compress, encrypt, split and convert ISO files. It supports most of the formats, too. This is a all-in-one tool for CD/DVD image processing if you will. The main function of the program is the creation and extraction of image files. For instance, PowerISO will create an image file of a directory or CD/DVD just by having the user select it and click on start. It could be a little easier to use, but the program is so powerful and so complete that that doesn't seem like a disadvantage. PowerISO has much more to offer, though. It comes integrated with a Virtual Unit. This is not a new thing in today's computer world, but it is a great addition nonetheless. With it, users can select an image file and emulate a disk unit, just like if a disc was actually inserted in the tray. One of the great other features this powerful application has to offer is DDA support. DDA is an advanced image file format that adds support for compression, encryption and more. And PowerISO is one of the not so many applications that handles them well. Many files are being distributed in DDA format, so it's good to have one application that can do it all. |
